A KOHLER LuxStone shower is built around a wall panel made from crushed stone and high-performance resin. The material is denser and harder than acrylic or fiberglass, so it resists the surface wear that dulls plastic-based panels over years of use. It's also nonporous, which means no grout lines anywhere in the installation and nothing to re-seal over the life of the shower. Panels are custom-fabricated to your bathroom's exact dimensions and set with a hidden joint system. Pennsylvania's older housing stock, particularly the rowhouses and brownstones common in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, often has bathroom dimensions that don't conform to modern standards. Custom fabrication handles that directly.
LuxStone is a complete system. The base uses the same stone-resin composite and is available in several sizes and entry profiles, including barrier-free configurations. Shower doors and enclosures run from framed to fully frameless and are selected during the in-home consultation alongside wall design and hardware finishes. Built-in recessed shelving, a fold-down seat, and a shower barre are available as integrated components. KOHLER fixtures are selected as part of the same consultation.
Ten wall designs are available across stone-look patterns, solid colors, and textured finishes. Most come in matte or glossy.
Matte finishes keep water spots and fingerprints less visible between cleanings. Glossy finishes reflect more light, which works well in smaller or darker bathrooms and adds visual depth to stone-look patterns. Hardware finish selection, whether chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, or warm bronze, is handled during the design consultation.
The KOHLER walk-in bath addresses the physical demands of conventional bathtub use directly. The side door opens to a low threshold, seated entry replaces the high step-over, and the bath fills after the door is sealed. Heated seating, hydrotherapy jets, and a slip-resistant floor are standard.
